She is a renowned feminist artist and activist. A graduate of Bandung Institute of Technology, majoring in Arts, her artistry spans from performance, painting, drawing, sculpture, video, poetry, dance, installation to fiction. The themes of her works are diverse, but they often revolve around the oppression of women’s bodies, religion in modern society, Western commercial imperialism, and global industrialization. Recently, she has embarked on a preliminary research on cultural history of Indonesian society and philosophy, which was triggered by her concern of Indonesian lacking in auto-critic skills.
